Trying how to find info for programming online left me more confused. It was the FSM that helped me.

I get it but it didn't work ?

Ok, so yesterday I tried to program my key fob. It worked and then it didn't work but the trunk release button in the glove box started working again. I go out today and the remote works but the button in the glove box doesn't. I think the car is haunted.

On Sunday I was finally able to get the STS out of storage for the season.
A rubber exhaust hanger broke off while it was there, but a trip to the shop had it fixed. I had the oil changed while there.

New battery in the STS, then a new Delco Remy starter in Vera.
A good day's work when on holidays. Beer time now!

A good 30min of work! Unless the STS battery is a bigger job than typical. It always seems for me that starters go on the coldest days of the year.

The b attery on the STS was an easy job, but the stsrter was a bit more involved, A bracket on the frame had to be removed to allow room for the starter to come out.
The starter has been acting up since some time in March, and it finally decided to pack it in when the weather got warmer.

I haven't used my car since this pandemic started. It's just been sitting in the driveway. I reconnected the battery so I could move it then I weed whacked all the weeds growing under it.

Is the bracket different from the 92 B-body wagons? When I did the starter on Peach I had to wiggle it just right to get it out, but didn't need to remove the bracket. Actually, the bracket was nice for supporting the weight of the starter while I was hooking up the electrical.

Maybe that bracket was changed, but no way would the starter come past it.

I went out and took a look. I guess I had it wrong. It wasn’t a bracket I was using to support the starter but the exhaust. See picture below, no bracket exists.

Nope none there. The bracket spans the holes you see on the frame, the control are support and continues back to the frame.

The rearview mirror came off the windshield on the 93. While I was putting new adhesive on it I had the car running to cool down the interior. It started to idle rough then it just died and it will not restart. I checked for fuel pressure. It seems to be low and I don't hear the pump when I turn the key to run. I hope this isn't going to be expensive.

Seeing as you weren’t bouncing down the road a bad electrical connection is less likely in my mind. How tough is it to throw in a new pump on that car?

The gas tank needs to be dropped to get at it. I saw an AC Delco pump on rock auto for $85. I'll check the fuse today but I doubt that's the problem as it started running rough before it stalled. I'll also whack the tank with a mallet. Sometimes that will get it going.
