Yesterday was service time. Changed the oil on the STS and Vera. I also replaced the fuel, air and PCV filters on Vera.

He's got 3 hoists and 1 stall. When he's busy space is at a premium.

So I'm behind in my post updates. My 93 Eldo has been out for sometime now but this past week I finally got it all cleaned up & summer ready. Oil change, coolant flush & change, A/C was purged & recharged but it was fine, summer wheels where swapped in, a good cleaning in & out finished off with a wax. Then yesterday I found the heater-core coolant crossover was pissing, it had completely disintegrated & I found the upper cover above the valve cover was cracked! But I got the parts I needed off of a 93 Deville I have in the yard & the Eldo is right as rain once again.  Grin

Oh, that plastic just crumbles after time. That's a bunch of work to make the car good for the summer.

Yeah, the advantages of being a mechanic & having a fully equipped shop, all that work took just over an hour to do.
Fixed the coolant cross over in about 20 minuets without spilling any coolant!

That's what I really miss. I have lots of tools here, but the big thing is the lack of a hoist. I miss the days when I could go in on a weekend and just work away on my cars unfettered and use the resources of the shop.

But hopefully I'll have that again someday.

I had to replace pretty much every piece of the cooling system on Rocky when I first got it. All the plastic parts were shot.
I still haven't had time to touch Chester this season. I sure hope I don't get any surprises.

The HVAC control unit in the 93 Eldo crapped out today! No A\C, always something with these old cars!

It would have been better had it shut down.... That's  what happened with Vera a couple years ago. I damned near cooked.

Well that's good. Do you figure it's the control head?

I'm pretty sure its the HVAC blower control resistor. I just did a once over on the A/C system a day or two before & it was fine, if it was the control head every thing would be dead.

But the blower resistor shouldn't affect the temperature control in my mind.
