I have been using AGM batteries now for a few years. But I didn't think Optima were AGM. AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat, which still use electrolyte. That aside, these batteries are phenomenal. They won't gas or freeze. As such they work very well for my solar panels at the cabin. I keep the batteries inside all year.

With the cars, they maintain a charge over a much longer period. So the car can sit several weeks, even in the winter, and still easily start.

Good to know, you get what you pay for. Man, batteries have gotten expensive. 2005 I bought a Napa Legend for $ 56, now they are $ 140.

Much more expensive, $ 200 plus. Do they last longer ? I would think so.
