Face it, that's were the money is. But what of Ford's decision to discontinue all cars save for the Mustang and a tall Focus? Where will that leave them if the autonomous electric car market takes off?

I think Ford has a shortsighted strategy they might regret but they still build and sell cars globally so maybe they are just giving up on the domestic car market.

I like the part where GM sent their engineers to the Ford public plant tour to see them struggling to install the aluminum doors or panels, not exactly industrial espionage. If they hired a Ford engineer that worked on the aluminum project engineering maybe but they make employees sign non compete contracts, that's intellectual property - then the lawyers get involved. GM and Ford worked together to engineer a 8-10 speed auto tranny, something like that. Tesla was poaching engineers from Apple and some of the other auto companies, wave enough money at someone and they will come on-board. Anchors aweigh .........we have to save the planet with electric cars !
